Your Camp Facilitators

Ms. KPS is excited to facilitate her 7th year of virtual camp experiences this summer!  As a lifelong learner, being a camp facilitator allows Ms. KPS to revisit her own passions, while guiding the learning of her campers!  

Ms. KPS has over 18 years of educational experience.  Ms. KPS is currently a Content Specialist for College and Career Readiness for Brevard Public Schools (FL).  Born and raised in North Carolina (go Tar Heels!), Ms. KPS' past educational journey includes serving as an Instructional Facilitator and AIG educator in Wake County Public Schools (2020-2023), Advanced Academics Specialist in Durham Public Schools (2017-2020), and 6th & 8th grade Language Arts & Social Studies educator in Guilford County.  

Ms. KPS has been a virtual camp facilitator for NC School of Science and Mathematics' Summer Accelerator program since 2017.  As CEO/Co-Founder of SynergyEd Consulting, Ms. KPS decided in 2022 to begin offering her own quality programming so that more scholars can have access to affordable, quality summer experiences.  

Ms. KPS is an award-winning educator who prides herself in staying professionally "in the know."  Some of Ms. KPS' involvement and training includes being National Board Certified (AYA English/Language Arts 2013/2022), NC Kenan Fellow, serving on Governor Cooper's Teacher Advisory Council (2017-2023), Serving on the Teacher Advisory Council for the National Humanities Center (2019-2020), and being recognized as Teacher of the Year (2018-2019) and Rookie Teacher of the Year (2007-2008) for her schools while in Guilford County Schools.
